Off-The-Grid living

As I stated, we live on 20 acres and live totally unconnected from the National Grid power lines. We have a 1.6 Kwh system that charges a bank of 24 volt batteries.

We upgraded our solar panels from 690 watts to 1600 watts in October, and do we have power like we never had before!

We do not wear earth shoes, eat granola or chant "Give peace a chance". It all just made sense financially, and ecologically to boot. The second benefit was just an added bonus.

Neighbors thought that there was not enough sun in the Adirondacks. Guess they were wrong, after living off the grid for the past 1-1/2 years.
